About our Out-Patient Program
Mission Statement
To provide culturally sensitive resources for tribal communities, connecting traditional ways with recovery to support healing and wellness.
The goal our providers at Inner-Tribal Treatment will be to sustain a holistic approach to care that is non-judgmental, and person centered. The focus of balancing the emotional, mental, physical and spiritual may include the blending (or weaving) of traditional, cultural and evidence-based practices. Setting goals and objectives to improve health, wellness and rehabilitation from a client's substance use disorder developed under the guidance of a counselor. (Last sentence is from the DHCS standards).
Inner Tribal Treatment starts with traditional medicine given to us by the First Peoples. We experience receiving medicine from Mother Earth, Father Sky, Grandmother Moon, Grandfather Stone, and each other. Our circle is the Medicine, the strength, that sees us through the darkness, the fear, and into the light of reconnecting with a higher purpose; the People.
Traditional Medicines are the foundation to which we assimilate practices of modern psychology and psychiatry that align well with traditional Native American Medicine. We start each day with a talking circle, provide education on cognitive behavioral therapies or on Native culture, and close with developing skills while increasing connection with a tribal community to decrease risk of relapse.
Established
